It has never been my intention to fully represent an object in its entirety.
There would be no sense in that - that's what printers are for. With color and brush, I want to represent the impression I have of the subject portrayed - and being, by definition, an impression, it is impossible for me to represent it in all its facets.
The consequence is that what I manage to represent will be incomplete: but who can say they truly know someone? The portrait I make of a person may change with the changing impression I have of the subject portrayed.
But it will never be complete, because it is not possible to have a total, true, and complete overview of a human being.
